เครือข่ายชุมชนกับป่าศักดิ์สิทธิ์: การผสานวิถีพุทธและนิเวศจิตวิทยา เพื่อการอนุรักษ์ร่วมสมัย
บทคัดย่อ
This academic article is part of the dissertation entitled “Participatory Community Forest Conservation by Civil Society Networks Based on Buddhist Ways in Loeng Nok Tha District, Yasothon Province.” It aims to present new findings derived from the processes of analysis, synthesis, and integration of Buddhist principles and ecopsychological concepts to construct a new conceptual framework for the conservation of sacred community forests. The study emphasizes the role of community networks as key mechanisms that interconnect the dimensions of religion, psychology, and culture into a holistic approach to sustainable natural resource management. The findings reveal that current natural resource conservation practices remain predominantly technical and policy-oriented, often separated from spiritual and moral dimensions. This separation results in limited community participation and a diminished sense of moral value. The conceptual gap identified reflects a lack of integration between Buddhist psychology, which focuses on inner mental development, and ecopsychology, which emphasizes awareness of the interdependent relationship between humans and nature. The article proposes an integrative practice that applies Buddhist teachings—such as loving-kindness, compassion, and the Middle Path in conjunction with ecopsychological perspectives to cultivate “Buddhist eco-consciousness.” This approach operates through meditative learning processes, cultural and environmental activities, and community-based ecological education. It aims to foster faith, responsibility, and appreciation for the intrinsic value of nature, leading to the formation of spiritually empowered community networks with strong environmental citizenship. The expected outcome is the development of a sustainable and dynamic “Buddhist–Eco Model for Contemporary Conservation,” consistent with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reflecting a path of peaceful coexistence and ecological harmony between humans and nature in the twenty-first century.
