Model to Develop Education by Building a Living Library Innovation through Applications in Learning Era 4.0 of Buddhist Scripture Schools (general) in Chiang Rai province.

Abstract

Research Method of study is as follows: through the co-operation and participation of the Office of Buddhism in the government and private sector, the 2 Buddhist universities, general Buddhist scripture schools in Chiang Rai province, and a network of local people, temples, schools, and communities. The research work revealed that, in the present day, we can carry an entire library in our hands and go anywhere using no more than our mobile phone or tablet. We can borrow books and even search for information. This arose because the institutions responsible for spreading knowledge invented and developed mobile phone applications, known as ‘apps’ for short. Each one created apps with many different features, while the technology in this field developed in leaps and bounds. The general Buddhist scripture schools in Chiang Rai, following the initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirinthorn, have a model and procedure of education which is ongoing in Chiang Rai province, using the modern innovation of digital transmission, leading to the Living Library innovation through applications in Learning Era 4.0 for monks and novices to acquire in-depth knowledge and live in the modern world according to the philosophy of study to be capable, good and happy. For instance, the library application can in principle be split into 3 kinds, namely, the app catalog, which can be used to search for book titles in the library on the internet; secondly, what is known as the database app, which can be used to access a database of useful information, such as important original documents; and finally, the app of related facts, meaning an application which can digitally bring information together with information which touches on the real world, for example, getting information from the system to show on the mobile phone screen.
